Field-first web apps
Fast on a bad connection, readable in sunlight, usable with one thumb. If it only works at a desk, it does not work.
The workshop
Alkmaar Farms builds web and mobile software for farming, hunting and other rural communities. Same family, same county, different tools — the ones that run on a phone in a truck instead of a tractor in a field.
Current project
Every state publishes its hunting regulations. Almost none publish them in a form you can use at 5 a.m. with gloves on. HuntingRulebook takes the digest, the season tables and the zone maps and turns them into plain answers.
Regulations rewritten in readable language, tied back to the source.
Season dates and legal hunting days for your species and zone.
Conditions and forecast where you are actually hunting.
Rut timing and activity information for planning a sit.
HuntingRulebook is a reference tool. The regulations issued by your state wildlife agency are always the final word.
Capabilities
We are a small studio, so we take on work we can finish well. These are the shapes of problem we are good at.
Fast on a bad connection, readable in sunlight, usable with one thumb. If it only works at a desk, it does not work.
Turning regulations, tables and public datasets into something a person can actually act on — the core of HuntingRulebook.
Location-aware tools that combine mapping, forecasts and calendars into one answer instead of four browser tabs.
Spray logs, block records, harvest counts and planting history — the paperwork every grower keeps badly in a notebook.
Websites and small tools for farms, nurseries, outfitters and co-ops who need something honest rather than something enormous.
HuntingRulebook is the first. It will not be the last — we build for our own communities first and open it up from there.
How we work
There is no account manager here. You talk to the person writing the code, and you see something running early enough to change your mind about it.
What are you doing today, on paper or in a spreadsheet, that this should replace?
A first version that solves the sharpest problem, with a fixed shape and an honest price.
You get something you can click on early, and regular checkpoints instead of a long silence.
Software for farming and hunting is judged by a season, not a demo. We stay on for it.
Next
HuntingRulebook is the first product to carry the Alkmaar Farms name, and more are in progress. The pattern is the same each time: something our own community needs, built properly, then made available to everyone else.
If you have a problem in farming, hunting, forestry or land management that keeps costing you time, we would like to hear it — even if it never becomes a project.
We take on a small number of client projects each year alongside our own products. If the fit is wrong we will say so early rather than take the work.
