Salem County, New Jersey · Family owned

Rooted in the orchard.
Built in code.

Alkmaar Farms LLC is a family company with two trades. We grow and sell fruit trees — cherry, apple, persimmon, peach, pear, plum and many more — and we build software for farming, hunting and the rural communities we belong to.

What we do

One family, two kinds of work

The same people who prune the rows write the code. That keeps both sides honest: our software has to survive a real field season, and our trees have to satisfy a grower who reads the spec sheet.

01 — The orchard

Fruit trees, grown and sold

We raise fruit and specialty trees on our Salem County ground, sell them wholesale to nurseries, growers and landscapers, and keep a private family orchard where new varieties get tested before we ever offer them.

  • Cherry, apple, persimmon, peach, pear and plum
  • Wholesale quantities for nurseries and growers
  • Varieties chosen for Mid-Atlantic conditions
  • A private family orchard we actually eat from

02 — The workshop

Software for people outdoors

We build web and mobile software for farming, hunting and other rural communities — tools that answer a practical question quickly, on a phone, often with poor signal and cold hands.

  • HuntingRulebook.com — state hunting law, made readable
  • Farm and orchard record keeping
  • Data-heavy tools that stay simple to use
  • More projects in the ground, more on the way

HuntingRulebook.com

Hunting regulations are published as long PDFs written for lawyers, not for someone standing at a tailgate before first light. HuntingRulebook turns a state’s rules into a straight answer: what you can hunt, where, when, and with what.

  • State regulations
  • Season dates
  • Legal hunting days
  • Weather
  • Rut forecast
  • Sunrise & sunset

How we work

Small on purpose

Grown, not scaled

We take on the work we can do properly. That means honest lead times on trees and honest scopes on software.

Built by users

We farm and we hunt. Every tool we ship gets used by the people who wrote it, in the conditions it was written for.

One name on it

It is a family LLC. When something goes wrong, you talk to the family, not a queue.

The mark

A tulip growing from a circuit trace

Our logo has to do a harder job than most, because the company does two different kinds of work and neither one is a sideline.

So the tulip sits on a stem drawn like a trace on a circuit board. It branches twice: once into a leaf, once into a soldered node. The orchard and the workshop, growing from the same root, planted in the same soil line.
